The Government has announced that individuals applying to register both Lasting Powers of Attorney and Enduring Powers of Attorney will benefit from a reduction in the fees.
From 1st October 2013 the fees will be reduced from £130 to £110.
You will still be eligible for a remission in the fees should you be in receipt of certain benefits or on a low income.
Justice Minister Helen Grant said:
“It is really important that people consider making a lasting power of attorney – it means that as they get older, or if they have issues with their health, they have the peace of mind from knowing that the important decisions about their life will be taken by someone they know and trust, if they ever lost capacity.”
