Twitter and the Law

The Attorney General Dominic Grieve has announced today that he will publish information on the implications of social media and being in contempt of court.

There have been a number of high profile cases such as the comedian Alan Davies, Sally Bercow and Peaches Geldof. They individually have made comments on legal proceedings which would be considered to be in contempt of court.

Via the Attorney General’s twitter account @AGO_UK, Dominic Grieve has stated “this change is not about telling people what they can’t say, it’s helping them understand a law they may not know about”.
